Albania Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Albania, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

Weather systems like storms, cold fronts, and warm air masses move across Albania from the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. These systems change the air pressure quickly, bringing rain, wind, or clear weather. Pressure often drops before storms and rises during fair weather.

Geography

Albania has mountains inland and a flat coastline by the Adriatic Sea. The mountains block and lift air, causing low pressure on one side and higher pressure on the other. The coast is more affected by sea breezes, leading to different pressure patterns than the interior.

Seasonal Cycles

In winter, high pressure often builds over Eastern Europe, sending cold, dry air into Albania. In summer, low pressure forms over the Balkans and the Mediterranean, allowing warm, moist air to flow in from the sea. These cycles create wet winters and hot, dry summers.

Climate Change

Climate change makes pressure systems less predictable. Stronger heatwaves, shifting storm paths, and a warmer sea can change how pressure behaves. These changes may bring more sudden storms, longer dry periods, and unusual weather compared to the past.

Places in Albania

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Albania Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Albania to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
