Bahamas Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Bahamas, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

Air pressure in the Bahamas is shaped by large weather systems called the Bermuda High and passing cold fronts. The Bermuda High brings steady, high pressure, causing warm, clear days. Sometimes, cold fronts from North America cause lower pressure, bringing clouds, rain, and wind.

Geography

The Bahamas is made up of small, flat islands surrounded by ocean. Because the land is low and spread out, there are not big differences in air pressure from place to place. The ocean has a strong effect, helping keep air pressure stable across the islands.

Seasonal Cycles

During the winter, cold fronts arrive more often, lowering air pressure and changing the weather. In summer, the Bermuda High becomes stronger, raising air pressure and making the weather hot and calm. Hurricane season brings sudden drops in pressure when storms pass through.

Climate Change

With climate change, the patterns of air pressure are changing. Some years, the Bermuda High is stronger, causing longer dry spells. Hurricanes, which bring very low pressure, might also become stronger or more common as ocean temperatures rise.

Places in Bahamas

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Bahamas Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Bahamas to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
