Bhutan Barometric Pressure Map
Depending on how many places we monitor in Bhutan, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.Trends Today
Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.
Most volatile
Least volatile
How is it calculated?
Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.
Weather Systems
In Bhutan, air pressure patterns are affected by both the Indian monsoon and western weather systems. During summer, the southwest monsoon brings moist air and low pressure. In winter, westerly winds create higher pressure and drier weather.
Geography
Bhutan’s mountains and valleys cause uneven air pressure. The Himalayas block cold winds from the north, while valleys trap warm air. High areas have lower pressure because of thin air, while valleys have higher pressure due to denser air.
Seasonal Cycles
Every year, Bhutan’s air pressure changes with the seasons. Summer usually has lower air pressure because of warm, rising air and rain from the monsoon. In winter, the air is cooler and heavier, creating high pressure and clearer skies.
Climate Change
Climate change is slowly raising temperatures in Bhutan. Warmer air can lower average air pressure and may change rainfall patterns and wind systems. This could make weather less predictable, with more sudden storms or longer dry periods.
Places in Bhutan
You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Bhutan Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Bhutan to keep you informed.
Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
