Belize Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Belize, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

In Belize, air pressure changes when different weather systems move through. Tropical storms and hurricanes bring low pressure and lots of rain. High-pressure systems often come from the north, bringing dry, cooler air, especially after cold fronts pass. These pressure changes guide the daily weather.

Geography

Belize's geography affects air pressure patterns. The flat coastal areas and the inland mountains create differences in temperature and wind. Warm land heats the air, causing low pressure during the day, especially near the coast. The mountains can block some air movements and change how fast the weather changes.

Seasonal Cycles

Seasonal cycles happen every year. During the rainy season from June to November, low air pressure is common, making storms more likely. In the dry season from December to May, high pressure systems from the north are stronger, bringing stable, dry weather and fewer clouds.

Climate Change

Climate change is shifting these patterns in Belize. Temperatures are rising, so air pressure patterns can become less predictable. Some years may have longer periods of low or high pressure, raising the risk of stronger storms, longer droughts, or sudden weather changes.

Places in Belize

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Belize Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Belize to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
