Czechia Barometric Pressure Map
Depending on how many places we monitor in Czechia, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.Trends Today
Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.
How is it calculated?
Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.
Weather Systems
Low and high air pressure in Czechia often comes from moving weather systems. These include Atlantic lows, which bring rainy weather, and continental highs from Russia or Siberia, which bring cold and dry conditions. Sometimes, Mediterranean lows push in from the south, causing storms.
Geography
Czechia has mountains on its borders and a hilly inside. Mountains like the Krkonoše stop some weather systems. The hills and valleys can trap air, causing local pressure changes. Flat areas, like around the Elbe River, make it easier for air to move and change the pressure quickly.
Seasonal Cycles
In winter, high pressure from the east or northeast is typical. This brings cold, clear weather. In summer, pressure is usually lower, and there are more Atlantic lows with rain and storms. Spring and autumn often have fast-changing pressure as systems pass through.
Climate Change
Climate change is making weather systems and pressure patterns less predictable in Czechia. There are more periods of unusual high or low pressure. This leads to storms, heatwaves, or dry spells becoming more common and lasting longer than before.
Places in Czechia
You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Czechia Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Czechia to keep you informed.
Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
