Faroe Islands Barometric Pressure Map
Depending on how many places we monitor in Faroe Islands, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.Trends Today
Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.
Most volatile
Least volatile
How is it calculated?
Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.
Weather Systems
The Faroe Islands often feel the effects of nearby weather systems. Low-pressure systems from the Atlantic bring storms, wind, and rain. High-pressure systems from the east can bring calmer and drier air, but these are less common.
Geography
The islands are small and surrounded by the sea, so geography spreads out air pressure more evenly. Mountains can make local differences, with valleys sometimes getting calmer winds while ridges feel stronger gusts.
Seasonal Cycles
In winter, pressure is usually lower, with frequent storms. In summer, pressure rises, bringing more settled weather. These cycles mean harsh winters and milder summers, but the weather can still change quickly at any time.
Climate Change
Climate change is making some storms stronger and shifting pressure patterns. Scientists see that low-pressure systems are coming more often and bringing heavier rain, making the weather more extreme and unpredictable than before.
Places in Faroe Islands
You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Faroe Islands Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Faroe Islands to keep you informed.
Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
