Gabon Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Gabon, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

Rain-bearing weather systems called the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) often pass over Gabon. When the ITCZ moves closer, it brings low air pressure with lots of clouds and rain. Sometimes, high-pressure winds from the south push dry air into Gabon, changing the weather for a while.

Geography

Gabon’s geography changes from coastal beaches to forests and hills farther inland. The Atlantic Ocean keeps the pressure lower along the coast because the sea warms up and cools down slowly. Inland, higher and forested areas sometimes have slightly higher pressure, especially away from the humid coast.

Seasonal Cycles

During the March to May and October to December rainy seasons, air pressure is lower because of warm air rising and clouds forming. In the dry seasons of June to September and January to February, high pressure from the south brings drier, cooler air, so the pressure rises a bit.

Climate Change

Climate change is making rainfall patterns less predictable in Gabon. Warmer global temperatures change the position and strength of the ITCZ, which may cause more sudden drops or rises in air pressure. This could make storms and dry spells less regular than before.

Places in Gabon

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Gabon Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Gabon to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
