United Kingdom Barometric Pressure Map
Depending on how many places we monitor in United Kingdom, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.Trends Today
Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

- Haywards Heath: 0.2
- Ilfracombe: 0.2
- Bideford: 0.21
- Fareham: 0.21

How is it calculated?
Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.
Weather Systems
The United Kingdom often gets weather from the Atlantic Ocean and Europe. Low-pressure systems, called depressions, usually move in from the west, bringing rain and wind. High-pressure systems can come from the east or south, making the weather calmer and drier.
Geography
Mountains in Scotland, Wales, and northern England can affect pressure. High ground blocks or slows some weather systems. The west coast, facing the Atlantic, gets more low pressure and storms. Inland and eastern areas can have higher pressure and more settled weather.
Seasonal Cycles
In winter, low pressure is common, bringing clouds and rain. In summer, high-pressure systems visit more often, causing warm and dry spells. However, these patterns can change quickly, so UK weather is unpredictable.
Climate Change
Climate change is shifting pressure patterns. Stronger and more frequent depressions can bring heavier rain and storms. Summers may have longer high-pressure spells, leading to heatwaves and droughts. Pressure trends keep changing as the climate warms.
Places in United Kingdom
You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the United Kingdom Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in United Kingdom to keep you informed.
Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
Due to the large number of locations we monitor in United Kingdom, we can’t display them all here. Use our search bar if you're looking for a specific city.
