Guam Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Guam, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

Guam’s air pressure changes because of different weather systems. Tropical storms and typhoons sometimes travel near Guam, suddenly lowering air pressure. Trade winds blow from the east most of the year, keeping pressure fairly steady except during storms. Sometimes, weak pressure areas can bring rain and cloudy weather.

Geography

Guam’s geography affects how air pressure works on the island. Guam is small and surrounded by ocean, so air pressure doesn’t change much from place to place. The warm ocean keeps Guam’s air temperature steady, which means there aren’t big swings in pressure like in places with mountains or farther from the sea.

Seasonal Cycles

Guam has seasonal pressure cycles linked to the trade wind season and wet season. From December to June, strong trade winds make the air pressure slightly higher and more stable. From July to November, typhoon season brings more storms and lower, less stable pressure.

Climate Change

Climate change may cause bigger changes in Guam’s air pressure patterns. Warmer ocean water can create stronger or more frequent storms, leading to lower pressure events. Changes in wind patterns and sea temperatures might also make Guam’s air pressure less predictable in the future.

Places in Guam

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Guam Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Guam to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
