Guyana Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Guyana, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

Guyana’s air pressure is influenced by weather systems like the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and trade winds. The ITCZ moves north and south during the year, bringing areas of low pressure and rain when it is overhead. Trade winds bring steady, gentle winds from the Atlantic Ocean.

Geography

Geography changes how air pressure is spread across Guyana. The Atlantic coast has more stable air pressure because of the sea nearby. Inland areas, especially near hills and rainforests, can have changing air pressure due to temperature differences and thick vegetation.

Seasonal Cycles

Pressure cycles in Guyana follow seasons. During the rainy seasons, from May to August and November to January, air pressure drops because of warm, moist air. Dry seasons have higher pressure as cooler air from the ocean settles over the land.

Climate Change

Climate change is affecting these pressure patterns. Warming oceans and shifting wind patterns change where and when the ITCZ arrives. This causes more unpredictable seasons and stronger weather, making air pressure less stable than before.

Places in Guyana

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Guyana Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Guyana to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
