Hungary Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Hungary, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

Hungary often feels the effects of big weather systems from the Atlantic Ocean and Siberia. Atlantic lows bring low pressure with clouds and rain. In contrast, high-pressure systems from Siberia create dry and clear weather, especially in winter.

Geography

Hungary’s flat land lets air move easily across the country. The Alps in the west and the Carpathian Mountains in the north and east can sometimes block or steer air systems, causing changes in local air pressure. River valleys may also channel winds and affect pressure locally.

Seasonal Cycles

In winter, high pressure systems usually sit over Hungary, causing cold and calm weather. In summer, low pressure is more common, bringing storms and heavy rain. Spring and autumn often have shifting air pressure because different weather systems compete.

Climate Change

Climate change is making pressure patterns less predictable. There are more sudden pressure changes and intense weather events. Seasons can start earlier or later, so Hungary now faces more heatwaves, more storms, and longer dry spells as air pressure patterns shift.

Places in Hungary

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Hungary Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Hungary to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
