Barometric Pressure in Laos
We monitor barometric pressure across 1 city in Laos, giving you up-to-date insights into local weather patterns.
Whether you're tracking pressure changes for health reasons, planning outdoor activities, or planning a fishing trip, our data is tailored to conditions in Laos, with detailed readings city by city.
Laos Barometric Pressure Map
Depending on how many places we monitor in Laos, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.Trends Today
Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.
How is it calculated?
Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.
Weather Systems
Several weather systems shape air pressure in Laos. The main ones are the Asian monsoon and tropical storms from the southwest. These systems bring changes in air pressure as they move, causing shifts in wind and rain across the country.
Geography
Laos is surrounded by mountains and landlocked, which means air pressure changes differently than at the coast. The mountains block and redirect winds, leading to higher pressure in valleys and lower pressure at higher elevations.
Seasonal Cycles
During summer, warm air over Laos creates low pressure, which draws in moist air from the ocean and brings rain. In winter, cold air from China creates high pressure, pushing dry, cooler winds southward. These shifts happen every year.
Climate Change
Climate change is slowly making pressure patterns less predictable in Laos. Scientists see more sudden changes in pressure, which can bring stronger storms and longer dry periods than before. The regular pressure cycles are getting disrupted, making weather harder to forecast.
Places in Laos
You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Laos Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Laos to keep you informed.
Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
