Latvia Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Latvia, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

Air pressure in Latvia is shaped by nearby weather systems. The country often sits between cool, moist air from the Atlantic Ocean and dry, cold air from Russia. Cyclones bring low pressure, clouds, and rain, while anticyclones bring high pressure and clear skies.

Geography

Latvia’s flat landscape allows air masses to move freely across the country. There are no mountains to block or direct storms. The Baltic Sea, to the west, also affects pressure by sending humid, mild air, especially in winter.

Seasonal Cycles

In winter, Latvia usually has high pressure, brought by cold, dry air from the east. In summer, low pressure is more common because of warmer temperatures and storms coming from the west. Pressure changes easily as weather systems pass over the region.

Climate Change

Climate change is affecting Latvia’s pressure patterns. Recent years have brought more frequent and stronger low-pressure systems. Winters are less stable, with occasional warm spells. Sudden swings between high and low pressure have become more common as the climate shifts.

Places in Latvia

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Latvia Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Latvia to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
