Morocco Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Morocco, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

Western Morocco often feels the effects of weather systems from the Atlantic Ocean. Rainy winter storms, called depressions, move in from the west, bringing low pressure. In summer, Morocco sits under the Azores High, a large area of high pressure that causes hot, dry, and calm weather.

Geography

Morocco’s mountains and desert also change air pressure. The Atlas Mountains block clouds and create different pressure on either side. The coastal areas usually have higher pressure because of cool ocean air, while the Sahara Desert in the southeast heats up quickly and often has lower pressure.

Seasonal Cycles

Throughout the year, Morocco’s air pressure follows clear cycles. In winter, low-pressure systems bring rain and cooler air. In summer, strong high pressure dominates, so it stays dry and hot, especially inland. Spring and autumn switch between these patterns.

Climate Change

Climate change is causing shifts in Morocco’s air pressure. High-pressure systems are lasting longer, leading to longer and drier summers. Sometimes, low-pressure rain storms happen less often or at unexpected times, making weather patterns less predictable.

Places in Morocco

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Morocco Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Morocco to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
