North Macedonia Barometric Pressure Map
Depending on how many places we monitor in North Macedonia, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.Trends Today
Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.
Most volatile
Least volatile
How is it calculated?
Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.
Weather Systems
North Macedonia’s air pressure changes mainly when different weather systems move in. High pressure from the north often brings cooler, drier air. Low pressure systems from the west or south can cause rain, clouds, and storms. These moving systems keep the weather interesting all year.
Geography
The country’s mountains and valleys make air pressure shift a lot in short distances. In valleys, such as the Vardar River valley, low pressure can bring strong local winds. The tall mountains block many weather fronts, so some areas stay dry while others get more rain and storms.
Seasonal Cycles
In winter, high pressure often settles over the Balkans, making the weather cold and calm. During summer, lower pressure lets heat and thunderstorms build up. In spring and autumn, pressure changes quickly, causing shifting weather with wind and rain.
Climate Change
Climate change is making air pressure patterns less steady. Sudden changes and stronger weather systems are happening more often. This brings more heat waves, heavy rain, and storms, as both high and low pressure systems become stronger and more unpredictable.
Places in North Macedonia
You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the North Macedonia Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in North Macedonia to keep you informed.
Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
