Martinique Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Martinique, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

Martinique’s air pressure is shaped by weather systems like the Atlantic High and tropical storms. Most of the year, the Atlantic High brings stable, high pressure with clear skies. When tropical storms or hurricanes pass nearby, pressure suddenly drops, often bringing rain and strong winds.

Geography

Geography also influences pressure in Martinique. The island’s mountains cause air to rise and cool, making lower pressure on the windward side and higher pressure on the leeward side. Valleys may trap air, leading to quick local pressure changes, especially during storms or when the wind shifts.

Seasonal Cycles

Seasonal cycles change air pressure too. In the dry season, from December to May, high pressure from the Atlantic High dominates, with gentle breezes and little rain. During the wet season, June to November, tropical waves and storms arrive, causing more frequent drops in air pressure.

Climate Change

Climate change is causing shifts in these patterns. There are signs that pressure highs last longer in some areas and drops in pressure linked to storms may be getting more extreme. This affects rainfall, storm frequency, and how quickly weather changes on the island.

Places in Martinique

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Martinique Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Martinique to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
