Niue Barometric Pressure Map
Depending on how many places we monitor in Niue, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.Trends Today
Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.
Most volatile
Least volatile
How is it calculated?
Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.
Weather Systems
Niue’s air pressure changes with passing weather systems. Cyclones and tropical depressions can cause sudden drops in pressure. High pressure brings dry, settled weather, while low pressure means rain and clouds. Trade winds also help shape the pressure patterns across the island.
Geography
Niue is a small island in the South Pacific, surrounded by ocean. Its flat land means there are no mountains to block wind or change air flow much. The open sea lets weather systems move in easily, making pressure changes more noticeable and fast.
Seasonal Cycles
Air pressure is higher during the dry season, from May to October, when southeast trade winds blow steadily. In the wet season, from November to April, cyclones and storms bring low pressure more often, leading to wetter weather and sometimes stronger winds.
Climate Change
Climate change is causing ocean temperatures to rise, which can bring more intense storms and shifts in pressure cycles. Niue may get more frequent low pressure events and stronger cyclones in the future, affecting weather and making patterns less predictable.
Places in Niue
You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Niue Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Niue to keep you informed.
Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
