Qatar Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Qatar, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

Winds and pressure in Qatar are mainly controlled by two weather systems: the subtropical high and the Indian Monsoon low. In winter, high pressure from the Mediterranean brings cooler, drier air. In summer, low pressure from the monsoon sucks hot air from the desert, causing almost no rain and strong winds.

Geography

Qatar is a small, flat desert peninsula surrounded by the sea on three sides. There are no mountains to block or trap air masses. Because of this, pressure changes pass quickly across the country, and sea breezes form along the coast when land heats up more than water.

Seasonal Cycles

In winter, air pressure over Qatar is usually higher, leading to calm and pleasant weather. In summer, low pressure dominates as heat rises from the land, making it windy and causing dust storms. The highest pressure is in January, and the lowest is from May to September.

Climate Change

Climate change can alter pressure patterns in Qatar by making summers even hotter, which lowers pressure more than before. It may also bring more intense or frequent dust storms. Shifts in global weather patterns could change the timing and strength of winds, affecting how air pressure changes during the year.

Places in Qatar

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Qatar Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Qatar to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
