Saudi Arabia Barometric Pressure Map
Depending on how many places we monitor in Saudi Arabia, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.Trends Today
Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.
How is it calculated?
Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.
Weather Systems
Saudi Arabia’s air pressure is influenced by different weather systems. In winter, high-pressure systems from Siberia bring cooler, dry air. In summer, low-pressure systems from India draw in hot winds. These systems help control when and how weather changes in the country.
Geography
Geography affects air pressure because Saudi Arabia is mostly flat desert with some mountains in the west and southwest. The mountains block some moist air while low-lying deserts heat up quickly. Hot land causes low pressure, while higher land and cooler areas have higher pressure.
Seasonal Cycles
Pressure in Saudi Arabia changes with the seasons. In winter, high pressure dominates, making the air cooler and drier. In summer, low pressure takes over, causing extreme heat and sometimes dust storms. These seasonal patterns repeat every year.
Climate Change
Climate change is making pressure trends less predictable. As the climate gets warmer, low-pressure systems may last longer and become stronger in summer. This can lead to even hotter temperatures and more intense weather events, like dust storms and heat waves.
Places in Saudi Arabia
You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Saudi Arabia Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Saudi Arabia to keep you informed.
Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
