Bangladesh Barometric Pressure Map

Depending on how many places we monitor in Bangladesh, the map displays a sampled set of barometric pressure data to give a clear overview of current conditions.

Here you can see which cities experienced the biggest and smallest changes in barometric pressure today. This helps highlight areas with the most stable or unstable weather patterns.

Most volatile

Least volatile

How is it calculated?

Our volatility “beta” number is generated by an algorithm that analyzes hourly barometric pressure changes. It looks at how much the pressure fluctuates from hour to hour. A beta of 0 means no change, perfectly stable pressure. The higher the decimal value, the more variation there has been throughout the day or over a longer period.

Weather Systems

Bangladesh’s air pressure changes with different weather systems. In summer, low pressure builds over Bangladesh because hot air rises. This low pressure helps pull moist air from the Bay of Bengal, causing heavy rain and storms like cyclones. In winter, high pressure over land brings cooler, drier air from the north.

Geography

Bangladesh’s landscape influences pressure patterns. The country is mostly flat, so there are fewer barriers to moving air. The nearby Himalayas block cold northern winds, making pressure changes more sudden. The Bay of Bengal lets warm, moist air easily reach Bangladesh, especially during the rainy season.

Seasonal Cycles

Seasons cause regular shifts in air pressure. From June to September, the monsoon brings low pressure and lots of rain. From November to February, high pressure brings dry, cooler weather. In spring and autumn, the pressure changes quickly as seasons switch, causing thunderstorms.

Climate Change

Climate change is making pressure trends less predictable. Higher temperatures can lower pressure in some seasons, causing stronger storms and heavier rains. Changes in weather systems could shift monsoon timing or make cyclones more common, creating new pressure patterns across Bangladesh.

Places in Bangladesh

You can find your city in the lists below, by using our search, or on the Bangladesh Pressure Map above. We're tracking barometric pressure across multiple locations in Bangladesh to keep you informed.

Each city includes a pressure status showing whether it's currently high, normal or low, along with two volatility values: one for today and one for the full period, usually 14 days. These help you see how much the pressure is changing over time.
